New World War I Film ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ has incredible award season success at the BAFTAs

With IMDB listing 30 wins and 75 nominations so far for the film, it confirms that the demand is high for authentic World War I films that are honest, and show the true affects of what people went through during this terrifying conflict.

Amongst the awards so far are Best Film Not in the English Language, Best Direction - Edward Berger, Best Adapted Screenplay by Scotland’s Lesley Paterson, Ian Stokell and Edward Berger - to name a few of the 7 wins for the film at the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards.

Audiences are calling for more powerful films about this era. Sea Lord is available to show the world about the British Naval conflict of May 1915, and the story of the Admiral Jacky Fisher’s fight to save Great Britain’s shores. Who wouldn’t like to see what was going on behind close doors at the Admiralty during the Gallipoli Campaign?

I have huge respect for Lesley Paterson and Ian Stokell for working tirelessly for 16 years to get the film made again. It takes an army of determined and strong professionals to get films out to the audience and these two remarkable film makers are an inspiration in showing that these stories can carry the test of time. The subject is still as important as it was in1930 when Erich Maria Remarque wrote the novel and Lewis Milestone directed the original film.

Wishing the cast and crew all the success and luck for recognition of their amazing work at tomorrow’s Oscars.
